On this day March 12, 2026, we are officially getting a new Lamb Of God album!! I would say out of all the bands. I think that I’ve seen live. They are definitely one of the bands. I’ve seen the most and each and every time they put on a great show. Let’s take a look………
Burn The Priest- oh yes, the one that started it all. I do like the fact that the name would probably piss off a lot of people, but the element itself is actually pretty good. It does have a certain rawness to it and I’m sure if Randy were to sing this way now his voice would be completely gone. Either way it’s a great start and it’s definitely a part of their history that’s worth listening to.
Previous Score: 7/10
New Score: 7/10
Standouts: Goatfish, Salivation, Duane
New American Gospel- if you ask me this picks up where Burn The Priest left off. This album is very raw sounding, and I would actually almost say it would be a good introduction to grindcore. There are some really good songs, but it could probably benefit from a re-recording.
Previous Score: 7/10
New Score: 7/10
Standouts: Terror and Hubris in the House of Frank Pollard, Pariah, Letter to the Unborn
As The Palaces Burn- I feel like here you can sort of hear their sound evolve and they certainly have much better production. Where is the last two albums had this sort of raw unpolished sound this one sounds tighter. This is one of those album that I forgot how great it was because it’s been a really long time since I’ve listened to it. This is one of those albums that when you’re done listening to it, you can tell that the album after would be the one that broke them.
Previous Score: 9.5/10
New Score: 10/10
Standouts: For Your Malice, Vigil, In Defense of Our Good Name
Ashes Of The Wake- as I said in my original review, this is the absolute quintessential Lamb Of God record!! like if you’re gonna start with any of their albums this is the one. I honestly cannot say how great this album is and again it’s one of those what more do I need to say that hasn’t already been said. This was my introduction to this band and I am not the only one. I was very lucky to see them play this in full in 2024 and the songs off this album sound great live.
Previous Score: 10/10
New Score: 10/10
Standouts: The Faded Line, What I’ve Become, Remorse is For The Dead
Sacrament- man I remember when this album came out. There was so much anticipation for this record and it was definitely worth the wait. I will say this is their darkest record yet and this is one of those that they’ve slowed things down. I will say when I first heard this album I was excited because it’s new Lamb Of God but tomorrow I listened to it. I don’t know the less I liked it. It’s still a great record and one of their best, but it’s just not as strong as some of their earlier albums.
Previous Score: 7/10
New Score: 8/10
Standouts: Blacken The Cursed Sun, Foot to the Throat, Beating On Death’s Door
Wrath- I feel like this one seems a bit disjointed like it’s not a very cohesive album. I think it’s got some great songs on it and I do like that. They are now playing some of these songs live however, overall this album is just OK. It’s a good, not great kind of album and to be honest it’s sort of feels like they had to put this out to appease the record label.
Previous Score: 7.5/10
New Score: 6/10
Standouts: Grace, Choke Sermon, Everything to Nothing
Resolution- see this is the album that should’ve come out after Sacrament. This is the album that should’ve been Wrath. It definitely feels more focused, more cohesive, and the band sounds a lot tighter. I feel like when it comes to Lamb Of God albums, this one can get overlooked, which is too bad because I actually like this one quite a bit.
Previous Score: 8/10
New Score: 9/10
Standouts: The Undertow, Cheated, Desolation
VII: Sturm Und Drang- I remember when this album first came out and I sort of had a love-hate relationship with it. Going back to it now I actually enjoyed this way more than I did when I first listened to it. The songs just have this anger and aggression and brutality to them, which makes sense because this was released shortly after Randy returned home from prison. This is one of those albums that I have a new appreciation for and I’m really glad I got to see them tour behind this more than once.
Previous Score: 8/10
New Score: 10/10
Standouts: 512, Footprints, Erase This
Legion XX- so this is just a covers album and I guess they put this out under Burn The Priest. It’s nothing that special and I would say it’s their obligatory covers record, but you can tell they just did this for fun.
Previous Score: 9/10
New Score: 8/10
Standouts: Kill Yourself, Jesus Built my Hotrod, We Gotta Know
Lamb Of God- to me, this is Lamb of God just being themselves if that makes any kind of sense. This album isn’t anything really new or super exciting but what it is is a great album. I feel like they have a renewed energy now that they have new drummer Art Cruz and in my opinion, he is a great addition to the band. I would even venture to say he’s better than Chris Adler. However, you feel about this album, I think it’s fine and definitely worth a listen.
Previous Score: 7.5/10
New Score: 8/10
Standouts: New Colossal Hate, Reality Bath, Poison Dream
Omens- again much like the last record. It’s just this band doing what they do best which is making great metal. What makes this album unique is that Randy actually does some clean vocals and I must admit they actually fit quite well. I actually think that they sound even better now than they did on the previous record and for a band that’s getting up there. The fact that they can still make these kind of records is pretty damn impressive. I’ll give this album 9/10.
Standouts: Nevermore, Gomorrah, To The Grave
Into Oblivion- well here it is the latest album from Lamb Of God and I must say it’s actually quite good. I had read interviews with Mark saying that he was really influenced by a lot of Swedish metal bands, and you can hear it on this record. Now I know that at this point musically they’re not going to reinvent the wheel, but what they have put out is one hell of an album. It feels almost refreshing, and this band really is showing no signs of stopping. Now I haven’t really heard many of the songs before the albums release and in fact, the only one I had heard was the song “Sepsis” and it was when premiered at live at last year’s Aftershock festival. But that song aside the album is just great from start to finish and I’m going to give it 9/10.
Standouts: St. Catherine’s Wheel, Blunt Force Blues, Parasocial Christ
Lamb of God is one of those bands that you know exactly what you’re getting when you go see them live. I would even venture to say that they are one of the best live metal bands out there. When it comes to their albums, they actually have a pretty solid catalog and there really aren’t any bad albums. Sure there are some albums that are better than others but as a whole, their discography is pretty damn good. I would be remiss if I didn’t at least point out that in my opinion, Art Cruz is the better drummer. One thing that kind of always bugged me about the albums with Chris Adler was the snare sound and the high hat sound. Eventually, you start to notice it and it really does get annoying. I think Art has brought a new energy and given this band more life especially live. But all that aside, this is a band with some amazingly bad ass records.
Final Grade: A+
