For this Forgotten Classic, we’re gonna go ahead and take a trip back to 1994 and take a look at the song “Peaches”. I’m not gonna get too into it so let’s take a look……….
In 1994 this song was everywhere and listening to it now, you can totally tell they borrowed riffs from the Bad Company song “Feel Like Makin’ Love”. Now there are two meanings behind this song. The first being lead singer Chris Ballew taking LSD and waiting for a woman he was attracted to under a peach tree, seeing the fallen peaches in various stages of decay, and mixing his desire for her with the peaches. The second is when Ballew was on a bus to Seattle and he heard a homeless man say “I’m moving to the country, gonna eat a lot of peaches.” I would be remiss if I didn’t at least bring up the music video which is the band playing in an orchard with canned peaches growing on the trees and of course there are ninjas. Ninjas plus peaches plus a fun song I mean that’s a recipe for one of the greatest music videos ever!!
