There is no way a show like Married With Children could ever be made today. With today’s PC culture, it would offend so many people. But in the 90’s, that wasn’t a problem and there was That One Time that Anthrax made an appearance. Let’s take a look……
Of course if you’re a fan of Anthrax, then I’m sure that you know that they were on an episode called My Dinner With Anthrax. The episode itself is about Bud Buddy winning a contest to have Anthrax perform at the house and he and Kelly Buddy trick their parents Al and Peggy to go on a bogus vacation in Florida. There’s a snowstorm and the band is stranded at the Bundy’s house and after eating Peggy Bundy’s mystery package from the refrigerator, perform the song “In My World” while trashing the house (of course).
Anthrax are big fans of The Simpsons (I mean really who isn’t) and had been trying to get on the show. Their manager kept sending memos to Fox and it turned out that Married With Children was looking for a metal band for an episode. The band flew down to LA and well the rest is history. If you want to find the episode specifically, it’s during season 6 episode 18. What’s interesting about this is that shortly after their appearance on Married With Children, they would do the “Bring The Noise” collaboration and then Joey Belladonna would be replaced by John Bush.
