Show Review: The Warning- 2026\09/09 + 2026\09/11

It’s no secret that I am a big fan of The Warning.  So when the announcement came that they would be playing three shows in LA I immediately bought a ticket to night 1. Then I said to myself “eh screw it I’m gonna buy a ticket to night 3.  Even if it’s the same setlist it’s not like I haven’t seen a band play the same setlist at back to back shows.”  Let’s take a look…..

Night 1: 2026 seems to be the year of midweek concerts. This one fell on a Wednesday night and yet it was a sold out show!! I mean a sold out show on a Wednesday during back to school week is pretty damn impressive!!  I’ve always enjoyed going to The Fonda.  It’s right off the freeway making it easier to get to and to get home.  In a (cooler than last time I was there hey if you know you know) packed house, the opener Speed Of Light kicked the night off. Speed Of Light is actually a Cobalt Presents alumni and they’ve really been making a name for themselves as they’ve gone on to go on a European tour with The Warning as well as playing The Warped Tour, Sick New World, etc.

They kicked their set off with the song “Wolf” before going right into “Teeth” and “Inch By Inch.”  Singer Riley has got some POWER in those vocals!!  For a band being as young as they are (they’re all siblings), they really have great songs and great chemistry.  I can’t think of a better opener for tonight and it’s really great seeing a band that went from playing Cobalt Presents shows go onto bigger things. If there’s any band that truly deserves to be on tour with bands like The Warning then this band is it!!  I really really hope that they start getting more tours because they kick ass!!  Time for the main event………

This was absolutely one of those shows where you could feel the excitement building and once the house lights dimmed, out walked the three sisters Dany, Ale, and Pau who immediately went into the opening song “More.”  I have to admit, I wasn’t too keen on that song but it’s really grown on me these last couple years and it’s a great opening song.  That was followed up with “S!ick” then “Que Mas Quieres” which is a great triple hitter.  Now since their latest album Everything’s Falling was released a mere week and a half ago, of course they have to play the new songs and since they’ve already been playing the singles “Kerosene,” “Ego,” and “Ritual,” the newest song they chose?? “Bruises” which, was one of my standouts from my album review.

In keeping with the new album, they absolutely have to play another new song and the other new one was “Bloodsport” and it’s definitely one of those songs that sounds so much better live. And of course what Warning show wouldn’t be complete without the songs “Disciple” and “Hell You Call A Dream?”  It’s kind of weird to think that this band has “hits” but 5 albums in and you’re bound to have a few of them. As it goes with so many set-lists, there are songs that you wish got played but that’s the fun thing about shows like this.  You never know what will be played on the first night vs. the other two nights.

Sadly all good things must come to an end and when the intro riff to the song “Evolve” starts, while that is a great song, it also means that it’s either the last song or second to last song. This time they closed with “Automatic Sun” but I wish they could have played longer. The new songs sound amazing live and I’m very curious as to what they will play on the second night that I’m going to.

Night 2(3): when The Warning announced that they were adding a second show at The Regent, I was really tempted to go but having to work and stuff just didn’t make it feasible. However when a third show was announced, I decided to go.  I’ve been to many venues but I swear The Fonda hates air conditioning. Not really but it’s sort of their way of getting people to buy more drinks which if you think about it is sort of a genius idea. You know make people sweat (especially on a hot LA night) so they’re forced to buy a cold refreshing beverage.

Kicking things off tonight was the band Holy Wars. Now I remember seeing them open for The Warning’s 2023 tour at The Regent which was my first time seeing them so there was a bit of familiarity. They were good back then and they were good now.  Singer Kat Leon is one of those frontwomen that moves around and really knows how to get crowd going and at one point even going into the crowd. They were actual,y a lot of fun and they started their set with “I Feel Everything” followed by “Kill The Light.”  This was one of those bands that powered through their songs before closing their set with (and I remember this song from the last time I saw them) “Suck It Up.”  Holy Wars was definitely a great opening band and I also learned that they’ve actually toured with The Warning many times before including their big shows in Mexico.  Time for the main event…………

Now I didn’t go to the second night but on this the final night of their three show run, I was expecting them to play the same songs except add in two new songs. And much like Wednesday, they opened with the song “More” followed by “S!ck” but what was different this time was you had Pau singing lead vocals.  First thought was “ok that’s a bit new and different.  Pau is a great singer in her own right and Ale as usual does backing vocals.  Wednesday, Dany did say she had a cold so of course she would have help singing so I guess this is what we get tonight.”  Nope not at all.  Dany really was sick and about 90% of the set would be sung with guest vocals.

So instead of this being just another night of The Warning or Night 3, this was unofficial called The Warning And Friends.  They had audience members sing a couple songs, their A&R sang the song “Escapism,” they brought out Jack Underkofler from the band Dead Poet Society for the song “Ritual” although I feel like it was a wasted opportunity to not play the song they collaborated on called “Hurt” but if you ever wanted to see this band with a male singer this would be that moment.  Honestly I for sure thought that they would put the song “Red Hands Never Fade” back into the set because Ale is known for singing that song on lead vocals and it’s usually done when Dany is sick.  However they did not and instead she sang lead vocals on the song “Ego.” I do wish she would do more lead vocals because she can actually sing very well but she doesn’t really like to.

Now aside from the aforementioned guest singers, Dany did manage to sing a couple songs but they weren’t as strong as they normally are but I have to give her props for doing so. The best songs that they did were with Kat from Holy Wars and it makes sense that they had her sing a couple songs.  What I didn’t know was that Kat and Holy Wars guitar player Nick Perez co-wrote a couple songs on The Warning’s new album. Of course when they announced that they would be having different guest singers one of my first thoughts was “if they don’t get Riley from Speed Of Light it’ll be such a missed opportunity.” And well as luck would have it, she came out for the song “Evolve.” So not only did I call it, but she sang one of my favorite Warning songs and she absolutely nailed it including the part where Pau usually screams.

This was certainly a unique show that’s for sure and while I do wish that Dany was feeling well enough to sing, having different people sing these songs was actually kind of cool.  What really made this night special is that not only did Ale and Pau step up to the plate with the vocals but the fact that Dany couldn’t really sing (and believe me you could tell that she wasn’t a hundred percent) and yet was still able to play guitar. We may not have had her voice that night but we got to see a very different kind of show. But even in spite of her not singing, she still has a very big stage presence. I’m almost certain that this will not happen again but never say never. Having Ale do a large amount of singing is a rarity so having her doing so made this special in and of itself .  Overall, a very different experience that you really had to be there for.

Both nights that I went to were great.  Everything from the band sounding amazing as always, the opening bands, the people in the crowd, the energy, etc. I’ve seen A LOT of bands especially in the last 5 years and The Warning are one of the best. It’s almost hard to believe that they are on their fifth album which is one of my favorite albums for this year 2026!!  If you really think about it, this band has been around for only 13 years!! 13 freaking years and they are able to sell out a legendary venue like The Fonda for 3 nights in a row!! Now originally this was advertised as an Evening With The Warning but I actually enjoyed the openers and with how Dany was feeling, they most likely would’ve cancelled the third night. What I also liked is that they played two different new songs for night one and two. If you’re going to do multiple nights and you have a new album out that’s how you do it (I’m looking at you Nine Inch Nails).

What makes them special is that every album is different and for being as young as they are is pretty damn impressive!!  They have it all.  The hooks, melodies, great guitar riffs from Dany, great vocals from both Dany and Pau, growling bass lines from Ale, and thunderous drumming from Pau. They are the complete package and I cannot wait to see them on their next tour!!!
