Roberto Zombie (2026 Rewind Review)

On this day, February 27, 2026 we are officially getting a new album from a Mr. Roberto Zombie!!  Now it’s been a good while since I’ve actually listened to any of his albums and since I originally put these albums on the chopping block, I have been able to see him a couple of other times and he has absolutely killed it!!  Let’s take a look……

Hellbilly Deluxe- as I said in my original review of this album, this very much just feels like a continuation of the last White Zombie album. It definitely has that feel and tone so if you wanted to technically count this as the final White Zombie album, I guess you could.  Either way this was a fun one to revisit.

Previous Score: 9/10

New Score: 9.5/10

Standouts: Superbeast, Meet The Creeper, Demonoid Phenomenon

The Sinister Urge-  again like I said in my original review, this one has a little bit of that White Zombie feel to it, but you can tell Rob is trying to do his own thing. I would say maybe as a result of him trying to do something different, there are parts that feel a bit uneven but there are some great songs on this record

Previous Score: 9/10

New Score: 9/10

Standouts: Dead Girl Superstar, House Of 1000 Corpses, Iron Head

Educated Horses- if I remember correctly, there was a pretty good gap between this album and the last album. After Sinister Urge, Rob went on to make movies and I’m pretty sure/it wouldn’t surprise me if him headlining the second stage at Ozzfest 2005 inspired him to make a new album but here we are. I remember I absolutely hated this album when I first heard it and when I reviewed it.  Going back now I do like this one a lot more. It’s not as bad as I remember, and the songs are actually really, really good.  I know that Rob is big into 70s horror films and it shows with this album.  This album has a very 70s feel to it and it’s actually done quite well. I don’t think it’s as strong as say the first album, but I certainly have a better appreciation for it now.

Previous Score: 1/10

New Score: 7/10

Standouts: Sawdust In The Blood, American Witch, The Scorpion Sleeps

Hellbilly Deluxe 2- I really don’t know what I was thinking at the time of my original review of this album. It’s a lot of fun and the songs are quite catchy and again he’s just trying to do his own thing. I do like the fact that this is called Hellbilly Deluxe 2 because you could honestly listen to the first one and this one back to back and it makes for a really cool listening experience.  He also carries over some of that 70s rock into this album which again makes for a fun listen.

Previous Score: 0/10

New Score: 8/10

Standouts: Mars Needs Women, Jesus Frankenstein, Virgin Witch

Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor- I feel like of all his albums thus far, this one feels the most experimental. You’ve got some 70s rock. You have some metal and even a bit of psychedelic music.  At times, this can feel less of a cohesive album and more of a collection of songs, but they’re good songs.  Either way, I wouldn’t recommend skipping this album because there are great moments on here.

Previous Score: 4/10

New Score: 7.5/10

Standouts: Teenage Nosferatu Pussy, Rock And Roll (In A Black Hole), White Trash Freaks

The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser- I feel like with this album he’s trying to go back to his old sound a little bit. There’s definitely a good amount of songs with movie samples which I really like and I feel like that’s definitely him.  I will say, though at the end of the day this album is just OK.  I feel like this is him experimenting with industrial which he actually does a pretty good job at.  Definitely worth a listen.

Previous Score: 7/10

New Score: 7/10

Standouts: Well, Everybody’s Fucking in a U.F.O., Medication for the Melancholy, In the Age of the Consecrated Vampire We All Get High

The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy- this is one of those albums that I haven’t listened to in such a long time and I’m really glad I revisited it.  I feel like this is sort of an amalgamation of everything that he’s done up to this point and overall it’s just a really really fun album.  I know it’s been a while since he’s put anything out, but I was lucky enough to see him on tour with this album and even the songs live sound great. I mean seven albums in and if this is one of his best, then I’m really looking forward to the next album.

Previous Score: 10/10

New Score: 10/10

Standouts: The Triumph of King Freak (A Crypt of Preservation and Superstition), The Eternal Struggles of the Howling Man, The Satanic Rites of Blacula

The Great Satan- well here we are the brand new album from Mr. Roberto Zombie and I’ve got to say I really really enjoyed this. No it’s nothing mind blowing or game changing but what it is is a very fun album.  You might even say this is a reunion album of sorts because we have Riggs back on guitar as well as Blasko on bass. You could definitely tell that he’s going back to his Hellbilly roots a because it definitely has that vibe, but what I really like about this record is that it also feels like he’s trying to go back to his White Zombie sound. Interestingly, there are also a couple songs on here that have a 60s acid rock sound. So I mean you couple that with his older sound and all of that makes for a great album. I think anybody that’s a fan of Roberto Zombie’s earlier albums will really enjoy this.  I’ll give this 9/10

Standouts: F.T.W. 84, Punks And Demons, The Black Scorpion

I have to say I’ve really had more of an appreciation for Roberto as of late. His live shows have been so much better and you can tell he’s really enjoying making music.  I do like the fact that he is going back to his Hellbilly roots with the newest album and at the end of the day, his records are just so much fun to listen to. I know the last time I saw him it was just a lot of fun.  It wasn’t that long ago, where he relied on the audience to sing a lot of his songs for him. Like he would hold out the microphone, and the audience would sing the songs, but he hasn’t done that the last two times I saw him.  I am really looking forward to the next time. He comes through Los Angeles because depending on who he’s playing with I will definitely be there.
