Up next on the chopping block is another Band Spotlight. So this next band came on my radar through Spotify and social media. I did some digging around and found out that they’re from the LA area, liked what I heard and well here we are. The band is called unpolished* so with that let’s take a look…….
So if you are a fan of alternative meets hard rock with a punk attitude then definitely check out this band. Their songs are really energetic and a lot of fun which I have no doubt carries over into their live performances. Now they have about 7 songs on Spotify and if you want them all in one place just give the EP I Plead Insanity a listen. Yeah there’s more on there but it seems like they released a single then added it to that EP and so on and so forth. Again, they seem like they have a lot of energy and one thing that rock has been missing is that kind of raw energy and fun. One thing I’m noticing about these younger bands is just the amount of energy that they seem to bring and I for one am here for it. Again, I cannot emphasize just how much fun and energetic this band is. Just look up their live performances on YouTube and you’ll see. Now it does seem like they do play around LA pretty frequently so if I ever had the opportunity to catch them live, I will definitely do so. So again if you’re looking for something new and for a band that combines grunge, alternative rock and pop punk, then this band might just be your ticket. If they’re this good now and they only have a few songs up online then I am very much looking forward to what they have to do next in terms of either another EP or a full length album. Hopefully we get one sooner rather than later.
**update: at the time of writing this they have released two brand new singles, those being “feet pics” and “accept me!” Both are a little different but good songs. “Feet Pics” has sort of an indie-punk feel to it whereas “accept me!” has almost an indie vibe. Both songs are a lot of fun and if you haven’t done so, give them a listen. Songs like the two new singles show that this band is willing to branch out and experiment with new things.
