There are artists that get mentioned on social media enough to garner attention and for today’s Rising Star Review, I’m putting Sierra Levesque on The Chopping Block so let’s take a look….
At 21 years old, Sierra Levesque is already making a name for herself and that is pretty damn impressive. I’ve seen her Instagram videos on my feed and I decided to give her a review and I am glad I did because this is one talented individual!! The best way I can describe her sound is if you take pop, hard rock, glam, mix it all together. It all comes together brilliantly and you can tell that this is someone who wears their influences on their sleeve yet doesn’t rip them off.
When it comes to what’s online to stream, she actually has an album called New Generation which is a very fitting title. The songs on it as I said are a good mix of pop and hard rock with a little bit of glam and classic rock thrown in. It’s 13 songs and clocks in at about 47 minutes but it is one of those albums where each song shines on its own. I think what makes this album special is that she played all the instruments herself which really goes to show how talented she is. There are a couple of non album singles including a couple Christmas songs which you don’t see too often from such a new artist. And while Christmas music isn’t really my thing, if you’re looking for something new for the holidays maybe give those songs a listen. Of course I’d be remiss if I didn’t bring up that she released a song on May 15, 2026 called “Undermine” which has this sort of hard rock/grungy/almost blues-y sound to it. It’s a really cool single and what’s even cooler is that it was co-produced with none other than Ron Bumblefoot Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses). It’s probably her most aggressive song yet and she has even called it a “song to scream along to when you’re angry.”
Sierra Levesque is absolutely a Rising Star and for those that say that rock n roll is dead clearly haven’t heard all the new talent that’s out there. If she’s making music this good now at such a young age, then I am really looking forward to hearing what she has in store for the future. To quote The Who, “The Kids Are Alright.”
