New Albums In 2026- Failure: Location Lost

On Friday April 24, 2026 the world was finally given the album Location Lost from the band Failure!!   now it’s been about six years since the last album came out, so let’s take a look…..

I’ve really become quite a fan of this band pretty much since I originally reviewed them.  They are one of those bands that has mass appeal.  I mean, they have songs that are slow and shoegazy, they have metal songs, they have hard rock songs and they’re honestly really is something for everybody.  Location Lost doesn’t quite pick up where the last album Wild Type Droid leaves off but rather paints a whole new picture.   From the opening song “Crash Test Delayed (with guest vocalist Hayley Williams of Paramore),” you know you’re going to be in for a treat. From there, you have great songs like “Halo And Grain” to the closing song “Moonlight Understands.”  I honestly cannot say enough great things about this album and when you listen to an album like this, you really start to hear things like the layers and the textures on each and every one of these songs.  Now the album isn’t very long as it only clocks in at about 39 minutes and while this is slower compared to the album Magnified, it really is a great example of how a band can evolve themselves after each record.  Seeing them play songs off of this live before the albums release was also quite the treat and they sound awesome.  Now this album does sort of end abruptly, but that isn’t always necessarily a bad thing.  At first, I wanted more songs on the album. I would much rather have nine great songs than say a 12 song album with a bunch of filler.  If you are unfamiliar with this band, definitely get familiar with them because they have influenced many bands and that really don’t get the credit that they deserve. I’m giving this album 9.5/10.

Standouts: Solid State, Halo And Grain, The Rising Skyline
