Rising Star Reviews: 6 Cylinders

If you would ask me just a year and a half ago would I ever want to listen to an Indie rock band but one that also combines it with jazz, I probably would’ve said “HELL NO!!”   But since my listening habits have changed, we’re putting the band 6 Cylinders on the Chopping Block for this Spotlight Review!! Let’s take a look………

It’s always great when bands combine various styles. It adds variety and most definitely keeps things interesting.  For such a young band they really do know how to combine jazz and Indie rock.  There are not too many bounces that I’ve listened to that I can think of that are able to do such.  One thing that almost immediately stands out all of the vocals.  She definitely has this range of combining soul, R&B, and rock which you can it’s not something that I’ve heard too often.  Now you put great guitar work that compliments the vocals backed by a very jazzy rhythm section and all of this makes for a great band.  Honestly, I could definitely see this band going very far as the years go on and I for one and very excited to hear what they have to offer next.  Now, when it comes to streaming their music, they have one single and another one which sounds like it was recorded during a live session but both are great examples of how talented this band is.  They have played Cobalt Presents shows in the past and if you have not had the chance to see them, definitely do so!!
