One of the nice things about streaming music is that many often times they sometimes give you a new band to listen to. One such band that came across my radar thanks to Spotify is Bittersweethearts and that’s who is on the chopping block for this Spotlight Review!! Let’s take a look………
If I had a sum up this band in just one word it would be FUN!! The music definitely has a lot of hooks, groove, and as I said fun. Now they are another younger band based out of Los Angeles with one EP that came out in 2025. The only songs that are not on the EP are the songs “Hate To Love,” “Poly Plastic,” and “Run From You,” as well as a great cover of “Christmas Wrapping” by The Waitresses. The aforementioned songs are a bit softer but they’re also really good and you can hear the 70’s music inspirations. Musically, they combine Indie rock, new wave, with a little bit of pop-synth. As I said this band is just a lot of fun and I’m really starting to notice that these newer bands are drawing influence from older bands. If you’re looking for a band, that’s just a lot of fun that puts a twist on older music, then definitely check out Bittersweethearts!!
