There are certain talkshow hosts that I have no doubt have a hand in selecting who will be performing. Once such Great Performance On Tv is win the band Radiohead played their song “Fake Plastic Trees” on The Conan O’Brien Show. Now it’s been a good while since I’ve listened to this band, but I do remember I enjoyed The Bends album so let’s take a look………
So I didn’t know that Radiohead was the first musical guest on Late Night With Conan O’Brien show which I think is just awesome. Going back and watching some of these old performances from the 90s, really does make you miss that time period. This particular performance was on June 12, 1995, and The Bends was released on March 8, 1995 so this song was brand new and it wouldn’t surprise me if this was one of the first times they played it. There’s just something about seeing a fairly new song being performed for the first time and this is absolutely one of those moments. I really like how it starts off kinda slow and then builds. Definitely one of the better television performances of 90s alternative.
