It really is hard to believe that six years ago the world shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Obviously, during that time there were no shows no gatherings nothing and six years ago seems like a long time, but doesn’t. Either way while I was browsing YouTube, I came across this bad ass cover of Sepultura’s Territory and it most certainly is a Snapshot In Time. Let’s take a look…….
So during the Covid lockdowns, many metal musicians would collaborate and do cover songs via Zoom and this was part of the Metal Injection Slay At Home series. It was the next best thing to go into shows and a few bands actually played mini sets. This particular cover featured Lauren Hart (Arch Enemy/Once Human/Divine Heresy) on vocals, Alice Lane (then Hand Of Juno now Infected Rain) on bass, Veronica Bellino (Life Of Agony) on drums, and Taina Bergamaschi (Crypta) on guitar. I honestly can’t think of a better group of musicians to cover this song than the four ladies in this video. They seriously do a bad ass job and the vocals absolutely kick ass. To be honest, I think Lauren’s vocals might give Max a run for his money but everybody does a great job. This is one of those performances where everybody stands out. If you haven’t checked out this cover absolutely do so and check out the other Slay At Home performances. It really was a strange and unique little time period and as much as I enjoy these videos, let’s just hope we don’t have to deal with another shut down.
