We’re heading to East New Jersey for Song Pick Of The Week. For this week’s pick, we’re going with the song “Hybrid Moments” by The Misfits off of Static Age. Let’s take a look…….
I remember it had been a good number of years since I had listened to this band and it wasn’t until I did their review that I was like “ oh man, I forgot how awesome this song is.” It’s one of those short but sweet songs and it just grabbed you pulls you in and is an absolute jam. Looking into it I didn’t realize that the song had been recorded in 1978, but wasn’t released until 1996 along with the rest of the album. Officially it was available on the Legacy Of Brutality compilation album in 1985. The reason for all this is because Danzig mixed, produced, and performed most of the overdubs for said album without consulting the rest of the band first. The whole history of this is a lot weirder than I would’ve thought but whatever the case may be it’s still a very, very fun song and every time it comes on, it’s always enjoyable. Definitely one of my favorite Misfits songs.
