Normally, I am not a fan of songs that go past the 3-5 minute mark however, there are always exceptions to the rule. Such is the case of Metallica’s closing song off 72 Seasons “Inamorata.” Let’s take a look………
Metallica is one of those bands that can be very polarizing especially when it comes to their newer material. Since I’ve had an eclectic awakening, I’ve been hearing everything past the black album a lot differently and I must say it’s been great. You can absolutely tell that this song is a Black Sabbath tribute. It’s got that kind of slower heaviness, but with the Metallica crunch and it is absolutely badass. This is a perfect example of epic songwriting from this band and to anybody that says otherwise I would say go and listen to “Inamorata.” The song clocks in at almost 12 minutes, but honestly, it does not feel like that at all and is one of the best closing songs. The fact that this album came out in 2023 and the guys are in their 60s and they can STILL write epic songs like this really shows that they still have it!!
