I’ve been involved with Cobalt Presents for almost a year and a half (at the time of writing this) and I’ve seen some great bands at both Hotel Ziggy and Corbin Bowl. One venue that we’ve occasionally had bands at is called Valley Rox and one such artist that stood out is Madison Violett. Let’s take a look….
They say that what’s old becomes new again and of that is to be believed, then I present to you Madison Violett. The best way I can describe Madison Violett, is if you take bands like Paramore, Evanescence (if they were good), and throw in a dash of Spiritbox. So sort of like an early 2000’s alternative metal but with a modern spin. It’s a very cool style and as I said, gives that early sound new life. When it comes to streaming her music, she has 9 songs/singles which you can get through in a little less than 30 minutes. And for those fans of Sleeping With Sirens fans, she has a song called “Bleed For Me” which features frontman Kellin Quinn. It’s a pretty neat collaboration and pretty cool that she was able to have someone like that as a guest. She’s also opened for some pretty cool bands such as Eyes Set To Kill and more recently, Plush. In addition to that, she’s had her songs played on KROQ’s Locals Only and KNAC.fm. Now of course her songs are great by themselves but live they’re even better. Madison Violett is a great example of an artist that definitely puts the work in and for being so new to this, it’s definitely paying off which is pretty damn impressive!! If she keeps going on this path, I could see her and her band opening for much bigger acts. I would definitely encourage anyone to go see her and her band the next time they are playing in your part of town. And who knows, she may make another appearance at a Cobalt Presents show??
