The Interrupters

What do you get when you combine Rancid, The Distillers, Reel Big Fish, Joan Jett, and some Operation Ivy? You get The Interrupters and they’re the next band on today’s chopping block. Now I know that they are fairly a newer band but they are just so much fun and the three records they have are great. This should be a fairly quick review so here we go……..

The Interrupters- if you are looking for a fun debut album then this is one I definitely recommend checking out. This is a great blend of punk meets ska and if you are a fan of Rancid, this just might be the record you are looking for. I mean you can really tell that they had a great time recording this album. Tim Armstrong guest vocals on the song Family which is really cool. I highly recommend if you are looking for something new that has come out recently. I give this 9/10.

Standouts: Easy On You, White Noise, Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me

Say It Out Loud- this one continues where the last album left off except here, the songs seem a bit more cohesive. On this album, there are one or two songs that are a little slower but honestly they aren’t that much slower. I think here they have actually found their sound. Tim Armstrong again is a guest on the song Phantom City which makes sense seeing as how they are on his label Hellcat Records. Again just a fun record and highly recommend if you are looking for something fun to kick back to. I give this 10/10

Standouts: By My Side, Media Sensation, You’re Gonna Find A Way Out

Fight The Good Fight- this was actually my introduction to The Interrupters. They would always play their single She’s Kerosene on KROQ and I remember thinking that KROQ was actually playing good music again. That song is great and all but really the entire album is badass. This is one of those rare instances where you could listen to all three of these albums and they all evenly flow. I give this one 10/10

Standouts: Gave You Everything, Not Personal, Broken World

Like I said, this is one of those rare occasions where I can listen to all their albums back to back. My only regret before the whole COVID thing was not being able to see them live because from what I’ve heard and seen on YouTube, they are a lot of fun. Again, if you are looking for a fun punk meets ska band, definitely give these guys a listen.
