Up next on the chopping block is the band Escuela Grind. They are a somewhat newer band but I’ve heard their name being thrown around and they’re one of those supposedly up and coming bands so let’s take a look…
Ppoowweerrvviioolleenncce- this is an EP but the total length is like 4 minutes which is good because the songs are basically just noise. Not much else to say here it’s not that great. I’ll give it 3/10
Standouts:
Indoctrination- this is their first full length and it’s got a sort of rawness to it but it actually sort of reminds me of a band like Burn The Priest meets Napalm Death. It’s whatever and it’s another short album only clocking in at about 28 minutes. I’ll give it a 6.5/10
Standouts: Hyper-Victim, These Leeches, Private Vice Public Benefit
Memory Theater- here, the songs are a little less “noise” and you can kinda tell that they’re trying to maybe do something a little different. Vocals are a bit easier to understand and the guitar work is pretty good. I’ll give it 7/10
Standouts: The Feed, Faulty Blueprints, All Is Forgiven
Dreams On Algorithms- I’d say that out of these albums, this one sounds the best. Once the vocalist starts enunciating, it makes a big difference and the guitar work is a lot better. The riffs are pretty crushing which is awesome and there’s also a song with that band The Acacia Strain. This album also seems a lot more structured. I’ll give it 8/10
Standouts: Turbulence, Always Watching You, Animus Multiform
This is a band that I can tell is maybe trying to not make the same album over and over. Now they are pretty new so only time will tell but hopefully they can evolve themselves kinda like what a band like Whitechapel did. They have the potential but we shall see.
