Rising Star Reviews: Flailing Idiot

For this band Spotlight, we’re going to put the band Flailing Idiot on the chopping block. Now I’ve seen their name on Spotify and posters promoting various shows. I don’t really know much about them so let’s take a look………

You know, I do have to say the amount of new talent that I’ve come across as of late has been nothing short of awesome. This band is a perfect example of such and if you’re into pop punk mixed with borderline hardcore punk then this band is definitely your ticket. There is something about this band that reminds me of bands that I used to listen to when I very first started getting into punk music. I think the fact that this band is so young is what impresses me the most. I mean with some of these songs, the vocals sound like they could easily be sung by someone like Corin Tucker. Now when it comes to streaming their music, they have about 12 songs and you can probably get through all of them in a little less than an hour. But they are 12 fun songs and while they don’t reinvent the wheel, they certainly prove that punk is not dead, but rather evolving. I think it’s great to see that so many younger bands are making great music and if you’re into bands like The Offspring, L7, with a dash of Blink-182, definitely give this band a listen and a follow!!
