I guess you could say I’ve recently had a better appreciation for the band Infected Rain. Maybe it’s because in 2026. I’ll finally be able to see them for the first time or that vocalist Lena Scissorhands made a guest vocal appearance on the Nervosa album Jailbreak. Who knows? But for this Song Pick Of The Week, we’re going to take a look at one of my favorite tracks “Freaky Carnival.” Let’s take a look………….
What really makes this song for me is the main guitar riff. It does have that sort of downed tune Meshuggah feel and it’s so damn catchy!! when it comes to this band, there’s a great balance of clean vocals and harsh vocals. I think Lena Scissorhands is one of those vocalist that can pull that off better than most and this song is a perfect example of such. Now from the live videos I’ve seen of it on YouTube. This is one of those songs that sounds just absolutely bad ass live and I’m hoping that for the 2026 tour it makes it its way onto the set list. If I had to give an example of a perfect Infected Rain song, this probably will be one of my picks. There’s just something about this song I think from the opening guitar riff to the chorus, to the harsh vocals. Definitely give this song and the 86 album a listen.
