Rising Star Reviews: Fastride

For this Band Spotlight, we’re taking a look at Fastride. These guys came across my radar after listening to another band I had on the chopping block so I thought I would check out the rest of their songs. Let’s take a look………….

OK, so after doing a bit of research, it turns out that the guitar player Ty Asoudegan has been featured in magazines like Guitar World and been recognized by players like Slash. It also turns out that they have shared the stage with some pretty notable acts, such as The Damned Things, Black Star Riders and Michale Graves.  Now, as far as the music goes, I must say it’s pretty freaking good.  It has that sort of 80’s metal sound (think Twisted Sister, Guns N’ Roses, etc.) with some classic rock thrown in for good measure. The best way I can describe the vocals are a combination of Axl Rose and Joacim Cans (Hammerfall vocalist).  I do feel like the singer could front a power metal band or at the very least a power metal cover band.  They do have about 11 or so songs online so listening to their music, doesn’t take that long. At the end of the day, you can tell that this band has a lot of energy and excitement which is great to hear. Based on the photos that I’ve seen online via social media, it seems like they play around LA quite often so catching them shouldn’t be a problem.

Standouts: Sin City, Canyon Kings, Call In The Night
