On Tuesday April 21 2026, I saw the band Failure in LA at a venue called The Zebulon Cafe. Let’s take a look…….
So this is my second time seeing this band, the first being at Aftershock 2025 and seeing them in such a small venue hits SO much differently. Failure is one of those bands that when they play, you actually physically feel the music. I can’t explain it but it is absolutely one of those you had to be there type of feelings. The fact that just three guys can do that is absolutely incredible and really emphasizes just how good this band is. Once the show started, it was on and they kicked things off with the song “The Air’s On Fire” off their new album Location Lost. Immediately after that, they went right into “Undone” followed by Smoking Umbrellas. If that’s not the perfect three punch combo I don’t know what is. What I really like about a band like Failure is that they played a little something off of each album and more bands need to be doing that with their catalogues.
The show might’ve only lasted about 1 1/2 hours, but honestly, I wish they would’ve played longer. This is absolutely one of those bands that when you go see them you think to yourself “yeah I wish they would play all night.” I really honestly can’t say enough great things about Failure and their live show. There’s a good reason as to why so many other bands look to them for inspiration. I can honestly say that this is one of those shows that makes you an even bigger fan. I always know if seeing a band live makes you go on a record binge then it was a great show. This was the kickoff show for their upcoming tour as well as a record release show (at the time of writing this the album is slated for an April 24, 2026 release) and what a perfect way to start a tour. If you don’t go to this then you’re definitely missing out.
