Coming in at number 62/100 is a somewhat newer band. They definitely bring back that old school early Swedish death metal sound and they are called LIK. LIK is made up of members from bands like Katatonia, Witchery, and Face Down and the song for Song Pick Of The Week is “To Kill.” Let’s take a look….
I’m pretty sure those reading this aren’t super familiar with this band and are probably wondering what the name means. Is it an acronym of some sort? Well the answer to that is no and the name means corpse in Swedish. There isn’t really any sort of deep meaning behind the song “To Kill.” It’s the first song off of their album Carnage which was released in May of 2018 and actually it’s also the first song that got me into them. It’s just a badass death metal song that’s about someone’s urge to kill people and hey who doesn’t like songs about that?? This is definitely one of those underrated and underground death metal bands that more people should know about and hopefully they make their way to the U.S. at some point.
