So up next is a band that I’m pretty sure you haven’t heard. The band on the chopping block is the band Infected Rain. I’ve heard the name being mentioned so I thought I’d check them out. Let’s take a look……….
Asylum- so if you haven’t figured it out this is one of those female fronted metal bands and she actually (at least to me) sounds like Otep. This record is a bit more melodic than what I was expecting but she does go back and forth from guttural to clean vocals pretty well. This almost has a Nü-Metal feel to it at times. A unique record to say the least. I’ll give it 8/10
Standouts: Voices, Routine, No Idols
Embrace Eternity- what I like about this one is that the vocalist Lena Scissorhands seems to use her guttural vocals a bit more. There is a good balance of clean to gutturals here. The songs are pretty good on here and you can tell they’re finding their sound. I’ll give this one 8.5/10
Standouts: Dancing Alone, Silent Movie, Perfectly Shining
86- as a whole this album is just ok. To me there are too many sing-y songs. The songs that sound like death metal are pretty good but as a whole, this album was kind of meh. I’ll give this one 7/10
Standouts: Serendipity, Fool The Gravity, Smoking Lies
Endorphin- I really wanted to like this one a lot more but it just has too much of the clean singing. Not that that’s a bad thing but it’s just not for me. I will say thought that this album has my favorite song of theirs that being Lure. If only the rest of the album sounded like that. But I do think this is a record worth checking out. I’ll give this one 7/10
Standouts: Lure, Black Gold, Pendulum
Ecdysis- I actually really had a fun time with this album. To me this one has a great balance of angrier songs and of course the softer stuff. There is also a song with Heidi Shepard (Butcher Babies) on guest vocals which is pretty cool. Overall, it’s a great record and I definitely recommend it. I’ll give it 9/10
Standouts: The Realm Of Chaos, Postmortem Pt.1, Longing
This one was an interesting one to say the least. There are some songs that are just ok and some that are really good. Overall, if you are looking for something a little different then check this band out. I am curious to see how well these songs sound live.
