I can only imagine when it came to picking bands for Ozzfest 1997, there had to be the question of who to bring back. In any case, you can’t deny how great Neurosis’ Through Silver In Blood and for this we’re taking a look at the song “Purify.” Let’s take a look…..
I remember when I did my review of Neurosis, “Purify” was definitely one of those songs that stood out. It’s a really cool song and this performance at Ozzfest 1997 proves that. Now according to one of the comments on YouTube, they don’t play this one anymore and after doing some quick research, that person is correct!! According to set.list.fm, they’ve only played this song 27 times!! It really is a shame that they don’t bring this one back because it’s a great song and would make for an amazing closing song. After watching this on YouTube, I wouldn’t be surprised if Slipknot were influenced by the two percussionists. And just like Ozzfest 1996, they most definitely fit in with the other bands on the bill and I have no doubt that they were definitely one of the standout bands of the tour!!
