Show Review: Infected Rain 2026/06/03

2026 seems to be the year for midweek concerts and there’s just something oddly different about seeing a show mid week. But hey I don’t pick the dates and on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, I finally got to see the band Infected Rain at The Whiskey A Go-Go.  I’ve become more of a fan of this band especially as of late, so let’s take a look……

This one started off a little different as I had VIP Meet and Greet and I just have to say of all the VIPs that I’ve done this one was probably one of the better ones. Not only did I get to meet the band, but they played a demo of a new song from the upcoming album and they included a bag of signed items and other things. I also have to say that Infected Rain are hands down some of the nicest most down to earth people that you could ever meet. After that was all said and done, it wasn’t long before the doors opened and kicking things off was a local band called Saberwulf. Saberwulf are a dark synth metal band and this was actually their first time playing live ever.  They definitely fit the night and were an interesting way to start things off.  Up next was another local band called Illusions Of Grandeur and they were very theatrical and sort of in the same vein as Infected Rain. Then we had Valaros and they are a thrash metal band. Definitely a nice contrast to the other two openers who had a lot of energy and definitely got the crowd going.

Directly supporting this band, the entire tour was Stitched Up Heart and aside from a handful of songs they were pretty new to me. They kicked their set off with Sick Sick Sick then right into To The Wolves. They do have an upcoming album called Medusa so they played a good chunk of their set from that. Singer Mixi definitely got the crowd going and the band just had a ton of energy which makes for a great time. There were some slight technical difficulties towards the end of their set, but the band recovered and was able to finish strong.  Again, a great band with lots of energy and I wouldn’t be disappointed if I saw them on the bill of a band that I was going to see in a future show.

Time for the main event………….Infected Rain.  Once the futuristic intro video was finished, it was on!!!  Kicking the set off was The Answer Is You off the newest album Time and what a great way to start the show!!  Without pausing, they went right into Dying Light followed by Fighter off Ecdysis. Singer Lena Scissorhands is one of those singers/front women that absolutely commands the stage and her vocals are so damn good live!!!  She seamlessly goes from deep guttural to clean vocals and she is absolutely badass. I don’t think she stayed in one place the entire show and neither did bassist Alice Lane and guitarist Vidick Ojog. Both of them moved back-and-forth and covered both sides of the stage equally.  Vidick’s guitar tone is absolutely crushing g and if you’re a fan of that heavy down tuned tone then you’ll definitely appreciate it. Alice Lane is one of those bass players that’s just so much fun to watch and playing these songs with fingers instead of a pick makes her even more impressive. Of course Eugen Voluta’s drumming is absolutely crushing and he’s one of those drummers where you feel the blast beats. Right before this tour they released a song called “Stranger” which they played, but not before inviting the audience to do some crowd surfing which I’m pretty sure security was not impressed but it made for a very fun time. Throughout the night, there was definitely more than a couple of circle pits as well as walls of death. They also premiered a brand new song off of their upcoming album called Ut Supra and if this is an indication of how the rest of the album is going to be, and that makes me very excited. Sadly, all good things have to come to an end and they closed the night with the song that cemented them as a serious band called “Judgmental Trap.”

Honestly, this is one of those bands that I wish could’ve played all night because they sounded great and was probably one of the most fun bands that I’ve seen.  This is absolutely one of those times where I am now a bigger fan of the band and that’s how you know that you’ve been to a great show.  Everything from the openers to Stitched Up Heart was great and Infected Rain are absolutely one of those bands that I will always try to go see any chance I can. Aside from being a bad ass band they’re all great people who definitely take care of their fans and appreciate everybody who was there. If you have not seen this band yet definitely do so!!
