The Closer: The Warning- The End (Stars Always Seem To Fade)

If you were to ask me, what is one of many elements that make for a great album I would say a great opening track to kick things off as well as a great closing song. Such is the case with one of my favorite bands The Warning and their album Queen Of The Murder Scene. Now I have and will continue to write extensively about this band, but one of the main reasons why I’m a huge fan is because at the end of the day you just need something that rocks. So with that said, let’s take a look………

It seems like no matter how many times I listen to this band, I always find something new and great. Now going back and doing the rewind review made me really appreciate their album Queen Of The Murder Scene especially the closing song “The End (Stars Always Seem To Fade).” Now I know that this is a concept record, and to be quite honest all the songs on this album stand on their own.  There is something almost haunting and even dark about this particular track that really hits you in a certain way. This coupled by the fact that Pau (drums) does all the vocals really brings it all together. Aside from being one of the best new drummers of the last few years, she really has a killer voice (fun fact, she runs on the treadmill and sings to build stamina). Another stand out for this song is Dany’s guitar solo which has a very Paul Gilbert like flair. In my opinion, this is one of the better songs on this album and I really wish that they would play it live again.  It would be a wasted opportunity if they did not play this album in full for its 10, 15, or 20 year anniversary.
