Nervosa

Up on the chopping block is a band that you may or may not have heard of. They are a death/thrash metal band from Brazil and they are the all female band Nervosa. I recently discovered this band and they are definitely worth listening to. So let’s take a look……..

Time Of Death- not much to say here except that this is a three song EP. It’s their first official release and it’s not bad but it is just a preview of things to come. I’ll give it 9/10

Victim Of Yourself- after the intro, this album just goes for it. It’s a really thrashy record and if you are a fan of bands like Powertrip or Havik, you’ll really like this record. This record has a lot of hooks and groove to it. I’m giving it a 10/10

Standouts: Death!, Twisted Values, Deep Misery

Agony- so this one is kind of a continuation of the last album. It’s definitely got a thrashier tone to it and the riffs are slightly more catchy. Definitely a worthy follow up. I’ll give it 9/10

Standouts: Hostages, Arrogance, Cyberwar

Downfall Of Mankind- so this is where they start to explore death metal territory. I actually want to say that in some ways, this has almost a blackened death metal feel to it. It’s still got that thrashiness to it but this is a darker album. I’m giving this one 9.5/10

Standouts: Horrordome, Bleeding, No Mercy

Perpetual Chaos- so with this album, there was pretty significant lineup change. On vocals there is some singer called Diva Satanica and Mia Winter Wallace who was actually the bass player from Abbath. I feel like this is the best they’ve sounded and they finally have an established lineup. Now as far as the album goes, it’s the perfect blend of thrash metal and death metal. I mean just listen to the song Guided By Evil and you’ll see why. I’m giving this one 10/10

Standouts: Guided By Evil, Kings Of Domination, Pursued By Judgement

This is definitely a band to check out if you are into badass thrash metal. If you like bands like Havok or Powertrip, then you’ll definitely like this band. Now I know that there have been numerous lineup changes but their current lineup is their best and they’ve now added a second guitar player. So let’s hope that this lineup is here to stay. I also can’t with until they tour the US because I can’t wait to see them live.

Final Grade: A+
