Over the years, there have been many great performances on television whether it’s on Saturday Night Live, when David Letterman had musical guests, and other various programs. One such performance was when David Letterman had Joan Jett And The Black Hearts so let’s take a look……..
Joan Jett has always been one of those artists that has always done great cover songs. Now I know she is known for covering “Bad Reputation,” “I Love Rock And Roll,” and other such hits but one of my favorites has always been her cover of “Love Is All Around.” This performance was on May 20, 1996 on The Late Show With David Letterman. For those who remember classic television shows this is a cover of the Mary Tyler Moore Show theme by Sunny Curtis and Joan definitely gives it a hard rock/punk edge. In fact, I’m almost certain that it’s played live or at least part of it is added to a medley (it was when I saw her in 2019). Either way her performance on this particular track is pretty damn good and judging by the comments, a lot of people were saying that Letterman always had great musical guests. If you want to listen to it on a streaming platform, the live version is not there, but the song itself is a single and the studio version sounds really good as well.
