Guest Vocals: Every Time I Die/Gerard Way- Kill The Music

Gutter Phenomenon is the when I started listening to Every Time I Die and I didn’t realize/forgot that Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance singer) did guest vocals on the song “Kill The Music.” Let’s take a look…..

So if you were like me, you didn’t really pay attention to the vocals on “Kill The Music” and thought that it was just a great song. I know that when I first heard this song, it was actually from the music video when the channel FUSE was playing music (they were kind of like MTV).  The song opens with a lion roaring and then singer Keith Buckley starts singing. Gerard’s vocals (they come in at the :23 mark) are the chorus and honestly, his vocals match Keith’s pretty well. Now maybe it’s because I was hearing things differently back when this came out but I hadn’t really noticed that there was another vocalist. For most bands whenever there is a guest musician, they are usually included in the video however, Keith sings the entire song and maybe that’s why I hadn’t noticed. Either way, it’s still a fun song and video.  Fun little fact, My Chemical Romance’s album Welcome To The Black Parade and Ever Time I Die’s Gutter Phenomenon both came out a year apart.  So are you like me and did you think that Keith sang the entire song or did you already know this??
