I’ve been saying that once a certain band from Sweden became gimmicky, the band to pick up where they left off is definitely the band Bloodhunter from Spain. They are so badass and at the time of writing this, they have yet to make it to the U.S. for a show but when they do, I’ll absolutely be there. For Song Pick Of The Week, I’ve chosen the song “Spreading Your Disease.” Let’s take a look…..
The way that this song starts immediately hooks you and after that first note, you know that your in for a ride. Clocking in at just a little over 5 minutes, this is one of those songs that pummels you right from the start and doesn’t let up. If anyone asks how I first heard of this band, I would actually say it was when singer Diva Satanica (who is absolutely badass) was fronting the band Nervosa. I found out about Bloodhunter through them and this was what made me a fan. On top of that, the guitar work is so damn good. It’s loud, crunchy, and evil sounding plus you have the badass drumming and bass playing too. Now the song is off the album Knowledge Was The Price which is an album that explores betrayal, manipulation, and breaking free from toxic control. The song “Spreading Your Disease” is specifically about confronting deceit as well as empowerment and truth. Lines like “Your manipulative skills / Waste of Time / Spreading your disease” is all about calling out toxic behavior, gaslighting, and corrupted authority. If you want to go down the rabbit hole of this band (and you should) definitely start with this song.
