Iconic Mascots: Black Sabbath- Henry

Sometimes mascots won’t appear until later on after a band has released a few albums. For this Iconic Mascots, we’re going back to where heavy metal first started and that is Henry of Black Sabbath.  Let’s take a look…..

Now, when you think of bands with Iconic Mascots, I’m sure Black Sabbath isn’t the first band to come to mind. However, they do have a mascot called Henry and he is something that seems to sort of rival Iron Maiden’s Eddie.  Henry is a winged demon or angel depending on how you look at him.  The thing with Henry is that he wasn’t there from the band’s inception. In fact, there’s not a ton of information about him however, the earliest appearances of Henry is on a tour flyer dated August 29, 1975 during the Sabotage era. Since then, he has been featured on many of the bands artwork and merchandise.  Notable appearances include the greatest hits album We Sold Our Souls For Rock N Roll, the Never Say Die cd, as well as The End dvd.
