I’ve always said that one of the things I really enjoy about apps like Spotify is that once you’re done listening to a certain band, a recommended one will automatically play. Now I’m sure that happens on all streaming apps, but it’s definitely opened my ears to bands I never would’ve listened to in a million years. One such band on the chopping block for this Spotlight Review is a band called Bitter Half. Let’s take a look……….
I’m not really sure how or where I would lump this band in. I mean for a band that has five songs uploaded, there’s kind of a lot going on. They’re what I would call alternative punk if that’s even a sub genre of music. I mean, you can hear anything from bands like The Pixies, to Nirvana, to L7. It’s actually done in a really cool way and as I said, they may only have five songs (three of which are demos) but they’re great songs. I do recall seeing them on flyers for shows around LA and from what I’ve seen on YouTube and social media they do seem like they put on a pretty fun live show. Recently they did a show at the legendary Rainbow Bar and Grill in LA and from what I saw, it looked like a very fun time. As far as streaming their music goes, they do have one song on Spotify and the rest of their songs can actually be found on Bandcamp. So with that, I say definitely give this band to listen and I would definitely like to see them put out more and new music in the near future.
