You could honestly say that the entire first Third Eye Blind is nothing but hits. I mean there are so many fun and good songs and this album was a guilty pleasure for years. For this Forgotten Classic, we’re taking a look at the song “How’s It Going To Be.” Let’s take a look……..
The song came to be when guitarist Kevin Cadogan was playing around with an autoharp which gave the band a feeling of nostalgia. According to singer Kevin Jenkins, “it inspired this emotional condition in me. The condition surrounds the idea of lost love, realizing that there may come a despairing day when the two meet and no longer know each other. I think we all feel violated when we find that a relationship actually has time limits, that it’s not unconditional. That’s the thing that aches in people,’ he explains. That’s something everybody can relate to, even when you know you have no business being with this person anymore.” This is absolutely one of those songs that stirs up nostalgic feelings and definitely makes one miss the 90s. It’s absolutely one of those songs that you had to be there when it came out. In fact, the rest of the album is just full of 90s hits and as I said in the review of this band, this album basically defined the late 90s, which was middle school for me. It’s just a fun nostalgic song and absolutely takes me back to a simpler time. If you haven’t listened to this song in a while, definitely give it another listen because it’s a lot of fun.
