Collaborations: The Warning/Carìn León- Love To Be Loved

If someone had told me just a couple of years ago that one of my new favorite bands would consist of three sisters from Monterrey Mexico I would’ve probably called you crazy. Yet here we are and this next collaboration is a song called “Love To Be Loved” and it’s a collaboration between Mexican artist Carín León and The Warning. Let’s take a look……….

This is one of those songs that was teased for a few weeks leading up to its release (they started teasing it around Super Bowl LX) and it was definitely worth the wait. Now I had never heard of Carín León before but he is big over in Mexico and most of his songs all of his songs are sung in Spanish. After reading many comments online, a lot of his fans were surprised that he actually sings in English. After listening to a couple of his songs, his voice sounds very different and in the pop range. This is his first and only time that he sings in English and the way he sings, gives this song almost a country flavor.  Once Dany (vocals and guitar) and Pau (drums, vocals) start singing, it brings it all together.  I truly think what makes this collaboration. Perfect is there is an equal amount of singing from both artists. Much like the “Kerosene” video, the Easter egg in this song is during the verse “It’s a hell you call a dream”. I think adding those subtle things makes songs like this that much more fun. In an interview, The Warning said that they took this song and “rockified” it a little bit. What makes this collaboration great is that has crossover appeal for both fan bases.
