Up next on the chopping block is another rewind release date review and this one is a live album. As of this review August 22, 2025 the live album Live From Auditorio Nacional, CDMX from The Warning drops today. Now, when I originally did their review, I hadn’t really listened to much of their material but since then I have become a bigger fan so with that, let’s take a look……..
Escape The Mind- so this is their debut EP and you can tell that they were really, really young when they made this. You can really tell after listening to their recent stuff. But either way, there is definitely talent there and I don’t want to say it’s a sign of things to come, but at the same time it’s a pretty good indicator of what to expect later on.
Previous Score: 8/10
New Score: 8/10
Standouts: Fade Away, Escape The Mind
XXI Century Blood- ok so this is their official full length album and I gotta say again for a band that is so young, this is a really good album. And by young, I’m mean think Silverchair young. Now I will say parts of it do feel a bit uneven but again they’re really young.
Previous Score: 9/10
New Score: 9/10
Standouts: XXI Century Blood, Black Holes (Don’t Hold On), When I’m Alone
Queen Of The Murder Scene- so from what I remember reading this one is a concept record. I can’t remember what the concept is so if anybody wants to forward that information to me that would be awesome but with this one, you can definitely hear them maturing. The vocals are a lot better and I guess I felt the songs were softer the first time I heard this album. They aren’t softer and there’s a great flow and cohesiveness to this album.
Previous Score: 8/10
New Score: 10/10
Standouts: The One, Stalker, P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C.
ERROR- there’s just something about this album that hits differently the more you listen to it. Here you can definitely tell that they have now found their stride and are definitely coming into their own. Like this is probably their tightest album and you can tell they’re firing on all cylinders here. Again, the fact that they’re able to make this kind of music at such a young age (I believe the bass player was 15 when they made this album). Honestly, I can’t say enough great things about this album. It’s really good and it’s definitely worth a listen or two.
Previous Score: 9.5/10
New Score: 10/10
Standouts: Animosity, Error, Z
Keep Me Fed- I would say tone wise, it kind of reminds me of the previous album, but in a weird sort of way, this is slightly darker. I really can’t explain it, but it’s absolutely a worthy follow up. I was actually surprised as to how short this album is it doesn’t even clock in at 40 minutes but I guess I would rather have a shorter album with really good songs than a longer album with more mediocre songs. There are a couple songs that I just think are kind of throw away songs but as a whole, this is a very very good album and you can tell by now they’ve sort of found their groove. I’m gonna give this album 9/10.
Standouts: Escapism, Apologize, Burnout
Live From Auditorio Nacional, CDMX- OK so this is probably the first time I’ve done a rewind review for a live album, but it is a new album regardless. For this album release they did something very interesting, which was actually showing the concert in movie theaters and I was able to go. Whether you see them in person or you were able to see their concert film, you cannot deny that they put on a fantastic performance. It’s funny because I remember when they came through in 2024. I was thinking that they need to put out a live album and well here we are. This album definitely captures their performance and energy really well and honestly, I had a great time seeing it in theaters. This is absolutely a band that is meant to be seen live and I’m giving this live album 10/10.
Standouts: Dust To Dust, Survive, Error
Anybody that’s listened to the podcast or knows me knows how much I love this band. There’s just something that hits differently when I listen to this band then say a band like Exodus or Carcass. You know I’ve talked about warm blanket albums but to me this is a warm blanket band. The fact that they were and are able to put out these kind of albums at such a young age is also pretty impressive. I think what I like most about this band is the simplicity of their music. Like it’s not technical, but it’s just simple straightforward hard rock music. If you haven’t gone to one of their live shows yet definitely do so!!
