Bloodhunter

Up next on the chopping block is the band Bloodhunter and I heard of this band because the singer used to front the band Nervosa. I’ve sort of been meaning to put them on the chopping block for a little bit and the time feels right. I’m not really going to get too much more into it here so let’s just go ahead and take a look………..

The End Of Faith- I feel like this was one of those albums that when I first listened to it a couple years ago I couldn’t really get into it but going back to it now I don’t wanna say it sounds like every other death metal band because it doesn’t. It’s definitely got some melodic moments and there are definitely a fair amount of guitar squeals. What I do like about this album is that I sort of feel like it picks up the baton that was dropped by Arch Enemy (you know before they became gimmicky).  There are a couple of cool covers one being the song Crystal Mountain by Death and the other being Bury Me An Angel by Arch Enemy. Great start and I’m giving this album 8/10.

Standouts: Death & Rebirth,  The End Of Faith,  Let The Storm Come

Bloodhunter- the best way I can describe this album is that it sounds like a melodic, black and hard-core album. Like the guitars are very melodic yet they have a black metal tone and the way the vocals are, they sound like they could be hard-core vocals. Either way it’s a very cool record and maybe it has something to do with the way it was mixed or produced.  I’m going to give this album 9/10.

Standouts: The Bloody Throne, Embrace The Dark Light, Bring Me Horror

Bloodhunter Live In Madrid- so as the name suggests, this is their live album. It’s actually a live EP and you can tell that this was recorded at a smaller show possibly a club in Spain.  But what I like about this is that it’s sort of gives you kind of a preview as to how they are live without having to go to a platform like YouTube.  The song sound great. The band sounds energetic and it makes me wish that they would come to the United States.  I’m gonna give this live EP 8/10

Standouts: All These Souls Shall Serve Forever, Ezequiel, Possessed By Myself

Knowledge Was The Price- I like that this album they kind of took everything that they had been doing in the past and they just cranked it all up to 11. The production on here is a lot better and the band sounds fuller tighter and definitely more cohesive.  There’s also some guest vocalist a couple that I’ve never really heard of but there’s also a song with Tim Ripper Owens called Never Let It Rest and it kicks ass. Aside from that song, though the rest of the album feels refreshing in a weird sort of way.  Definitely give this album a listen and I’m giving it 10/10

Standouts: Never Let It Rest, Spreading Your Disease, Medea’s Guidance

This is one of those bands that (and I cannot emphasize this enough) come do a tour of the states!!!!  Yes their discography is small right now, but they’re all great albums. From what I’ve seen on YouTube they put on a killer live show and hopefully they do make their way to North America. Now, of course I would be remiss if I did not mention their new single that was released on January 21st 2026 called “The Devil’s Own.” I’ve noticed that they went in a more melodic direction on this one single and if this is any indication of how the next album is going to be then that makes me even more excited!! seriously give that song a listen your ears will most definitely thank you!!

Final Grade: A
