For this next guest solo, we’re taking a look at the song “Taking Back My Soul” by the Swedish metal band Arch Enemy. This is the song that opens the album so let’s take a look………
Due to recent events with this band and their vocalist, I thought it would be fitting to take a look at one of my favorite albums/eras of this band. Between 2004-2006, there seemed to be a lot of really good metal albums being released. Amongst those albums was the album Doomsday Machine and it opens with the aforementioned song. The second guitar solo was done by Gus G (Firewind, Ozzy Osbourne, Dream Evil, Nightrage) and while the solo is very short, it’s very memorable. Shortly after that, second guitarist (and brother to lead guitarist Michael Amott) would leave and Gus would actually fill in on their 2005 Ozzfest tour. Give this song a listen!!
