When it comes to great death metal, Brazil seems to be one of those countries that gets it right. Over the last couple years, I’ve really been into the band Crypta and for today’s Kickoff, we’re taking a look at the song “Starvation.” Let’s take a look……..
Obviously from the title it’s about people starving and doing what they can to survive. Lyrically it’s pretty straightforward. It’s about starving and the effects of starvation on the human body. I wouldn’t really consider this a political song but a song that is about a worldwide problem. I think a lot of people tend to forget that not all metal bands write songs about killing people, ripping up corpses, and Satan. Some actually write about real world problems and this song is a perfect example of such. This song also has a good amount of thrash mixed in too and that’s how great metal is done.
