Song Pick Of The Week: The Warning-Kerosene

It’s pretty clear that I have a soft spot for The Warning. They came about at a time where I was searching for something new and exciting and at the end of the day, I want something that just rocks!! For this Song Pick Of The Week, I have chosen “Kerosene” by The Warning. Let’s take a look……..

For “Kerosene,” I had to give it a couple of listens and it’s definitely one of those songs that grows on you. I do like the opening guitar riff (for some it may sound stock) because it does show that they are trying to write in more of a heavy rock style. Vocally, Dany (vocals and guitar) sounds a bit poppier and it very much fits.  This song is a good combination of pop rock meets heavy rock with some grittiness thrown in. One thing about their newer songs is that you can hear Ale’s bass which is kind of rare for hard rock and metal. That’s where the grittiness comes from and of course Pau’s hard hitting drumming really puts it over the edge. As it is with this band when the song came out, there was a music video to accompany it.  No, I’m not going to comment on the dancing portion but if you watch it and are a fan of this band, look for the Easter eggs. This song was released on March 6th, 2026 and by now they’ve played it at festivals like Lollapalooza Chile and it sounds SO much better live. This is definitely meant to be played live and I have no doubt that this will be a live staple (for at least a few years).
