Did anybody go to Ozzfest 2005? More importantly, did anybody go to the San Bernardino date? If so, you probably Remember That One Time when Iron Maiden had eggs thrown at them and their power cut off during their set. Let’s take a look…….
Oh Ozzfest how I miss thee. One such Ozzfest that I regret not going to was the 2005 one. I mean the bill was absolutely insane on both the second stage and the main stage. However, behind the scenes there was an ongoing feud between Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson and the Osbournes. Apparently Bruce Dickinson had been badmouthing Ozzy the entire tour and Sharon being who she is cut their power off and have fans throw eggs at them. The first song where they had to stop and clean eggs off of Nicko McBrain’s drum kit was during “The Trooper” followed by PA system fails during the songs “Phantom Of The Opera,” “Run To The Hills,” and “Hallowed Be Thy Name.” If you ask me, it’s hard to feel sorry for someone who has been badmouthing you the entire tour but at the same time it also sucks for the fans that paid money to go see this band only to have their set cut short. I don’t know what do you all think? Do you think Sharon made the right call? Or are you on the side of Bruce Dickinson?
