While the main stage at Ozzfest was great and had the big names, the second stage was a lot more fun. One such band on the second stage at Ozzfest 1997 was the band Drain STH. Let’s take a look….
I think many seem to forget that Drain STH was the first all female band to play Ozzfest. Now while there are no shortages of metal on either the second or main stage at Ozzfest, there’s also some heavy rock and Drain STH would definitely fall into that category. Now they only have two albums and at this time, the were touring in support of their first album Horror Wrestling. It is unfortunate that I cannot seem to find very much live footage of their Ozzfest 97 performance but videos I did find are actually pretty good. I would say that Ozzfest definitely helped them get to that next level even if it was for a brief period. Fun fact, vocalist Maria Sjöholm married Tony Iommi.

Another band that was on the second stage is Slo Burn and for those who are unfamiliar with them, this is a stoner rock band featuring John Garcia from the band Kyuss on vocals. Honestly, if you are a fan of the later Kyuss albums then you’ll definitely enjoy this. It’s very much a continuation of where that band left off and a year after Ozzfest, they split up only to then reunite for the Psycho Las Vegas festival in 2017.
