Forgotten Classics: Toadies

So in the course of doing this, I’ve decided to come up with something that I am going to call Forgotten Classics. Basically their songs that you might remember from your childhood or songs you grew up with or that one song that you may be heard on the radio and was like what the hell was the name of that song?  Anyway, for my first Forgotten Classic I thought I’d take it back to the 90s. So with that, let’s take a look………

Band: Toadies

Album: Rubberneck

Song: Possum Kingdom

Oh yes, 1994. It really was a simpler time back then.  I mean for me anyway I was in fourth grade and I remember my parents bought me a radio that had a cassette player but does anybody remember when there were more rock stations in Ventura and LA County?  Because I certainly do I mean you had 96.7 The Bus you had 106.7 KROQ back when they actually played good music, there was 97.5, and so many more.  But I picked this song because I just thought of it and thought man what a fun song this is.  I guess Possum Kingdom Lake is a place in Texas which I had no idea existed.  I guess this song is meant to be a continuation of their song I Burn which is about cult members sending themselves on fire, and this song is meant to be about one of the people (who had just become smoke) going to Possum Kingdom Lake to find someone to join him. I mean, it is a pretty cool idea for a song I must say.  But if you want to listen to a fun throwback song from the 90s that you haven’t heard in a long time give this song another listen it’s catchy it’s fun and at some point I will be putting Toadies on the Chopping Block.
