In counting down the number one spot on my top 100. I’ve now reached number 70. Coming in at number 70 is none other than Snot with the song “Joy Ride.” I’ve always had a soft spot for this particular song, so let’s take a look……
“Joy Ride” it’s definitely one of those songs that got me hooked on the Get Some album. What makes this stand out from the rest of the album is that it’s pretty much the only straight up punk sounding song on the record. Clocking in at 2:25, it’s one of those short but sweet songs. When you look at the lyrics to “Joy Ride,” it’s really about the appeal of recklessness and how speed can function as both a thrill and a form of escape. I will say for as great as this song is the ending is very ironic and a little sad when you think about it. However, you look at it or want to interpret it. You just can’t deny how fun and bad ass this song is. Again it’s short but sweet but (much like the rest of the album) it is a lot of fun to listen to. It’s definitely one of those songs that when you listen to it, it definitely gets you pumped up and ready to kick the days ass.
