Coming in at number 74/100 is a band that I honestly can can say is making a massive comeback!! Of course the band in question is none other than Kittie and I’ve chosen the song “Eyes Wide Open” for Song Pick Of The Week. Let’s take a look…….
If I remember correctly, this was one of the songs that made me think “ok when did Kittie come back? And they’re heavier than ever!!” This was also one of the first singles that was used to promote their first album in 13 years Fire. The song itself is about trust and betrayal while encouraging someone to see beyond ignorance and uncover a persons true motives. One thing that stands out on this particular track is that while you also have Mercedes (drummer) doing backup vocals giving this song that extra edge. If you haven’t listened to the Audioeclectica podcast (and you should btw), we did an episode on comeback albums and the album Fire is definitely a great example of such. I was lucky enough to see them play this at the 2025 Aftershock festival and it definitely went over very well. Give this song as well as the rest of the Fire album a spin.
