Up next on the chopping block is Coal Chamber. Now I am not that familiar with their stuff just a few songs here and there so let’s take a look…..
Coal Chamber- back in the day when MTV actually played music videos, I remember the video for the song Loco and thinking that clown is creepy as hell but the song being badass. The rest of the album is definitely a product of the Nu metal sound that was going on in the late 90’s and it’s an awesome album. I’ll give it 9/10
Standouts: Oddity, Bradley, Big Truck
Chamber Music- this one you can tell they distanced themselves from the Nu Metal sound (too many comparisons to Korn I guess) and this one has a very industrial metal sound. One thing to note is the song Shock The Monkey has guest vocals from Ozzy Osborne. Definitely a very different record and I’ll give it a 8/10
Standouts: Tragedy, What’s In Your Mind, No Home
Dark Days- this one is definitely less industrial elements to it and has almost a gothic feel to it. I think this is their heaviest record thus far and I actually quite enjoyed this one. There’s a few cheesy moments but overall, it’s a fun record. I’ll give this one 9/10
Standouts: Glow, Dark Days, Rowboat
Rivals- this album has some Nu metal elements as well as some grove metal elements. This one reminds me of the last album only slightly better. I’ll give this one 9/10
Standouts: I.O.U. Nothing, Suffer In Silence, Over My Head
This was short but sweet but for some reason, I thought they had more albums. Anyway, this is a fun band to listen to and hopefully there will,be a new album sooner rather than later. From what I’ve seen online, they are pretty good live so hopefully we get a new tour soon.
