So if you don’t have plans on March 28th and on April 18th (both of those are on Saturday BTW) well now you do because The Madam Bombs are on the Chopping Block. Again this is another band that is composed of all ladies so anyone that knows me knows that I think that it’s been the ladies that have been dominating hard rock and metal as of late. So with that, let’s take a look……………
OK, so again if you’re asking yourself, but wait didn’t you already review this band? The answer would be why yes I did and in fact they were on the same mix bag review as The Anti-Groupies and if you would like to read that review, click this link right here
Now, I went back and listened to all of their songs, including their EP and if memory serves me correctly, I believe they popped up on my radar like a few years ago when I first started putting bands on the chopping block. So the way I listen to most bands is through Spotify, and usually towards the end of the discography Spotify will make a playlist and their songs (Not) With Me and Get Me Out were on The Donnas mix and I remember when I first heard those two songs I remember thinking that they were similar to that band, but they also reminded me a lot of of the band L7 and Bikini Kill. Again, another young band that has a lot of talent and potential. I think it’s awesome that you can clearly hear who they’re inspired by because it’s just further proof that hard rock and metal is in fact, not dead or dying. Now, according to my good friend and podcast cohost Brian they have played Cobalt Presents shows before and they were great live. So if you’re looking for something similar to bands like Bikini Kill meets The Donnas with some grunge and punk thrown in for good measure then you’ll really enjoy this band. I for one and looking forward to seeing them on the 28th and hopefully they put out either another EP or a full length album sooner rather than later.
