Up next on the chopping block is the band The Runaways. Now I’m really only familiar with that one song Cherry Bomb so let’s see what the rest of the music sounds like. Let’s take a look……..
The Runaways- well yes this is the album that gave us the song Cherry Bomb. Now as far as the rest of the album goes I’d say it’s not as in your face as that particular song but it’s a good album. It’s not a punk album but more of a rock album. Definitely check it out. I’ll give it a 10/10
Standouts: Rock N Roll, Secrets, Is It Day Or Night?
Queens Of Noise- one thing that stands out here is that the guitar tone is actually heavier and not to mention there are a couple of softer songs as well. The album just feels like it’s a bit more focused. It’s definitely a great follow up and a worthwhile listen. This is also the last album to have Cherie Currie on vocals. I’ll give this one 10/10
Standouts: Take It Or Leave It, I Love Playin’ With Fire, Neon Angels On The Road To Ruin
Waitin’ For The Night- so this is the first album without Cherie Currie and the first with Joan Jett on vocals. I mean her vocals are hugely different than Currie’s but yeah you can definitely tell a difference. I actually wanted to like this one a lot more but it’s just not as strong as the other two records although this one does have my favorite song of theirs School Days. I’ll give this one 9/10

And Now….The Runaways- this one is just ok. Like it’s not bad but it’s not good either. I don’t know musically it’s just average. There is a cover of 8 Days A Week which isn’t really that good. I guess there were a lot of problems during the recording sessions and that’s really too bad as this is the last Runaways album. I’ll give this one 8/10
Standouts: Mama We’re All Crazy Now, Takeover, Black Leather
One things for sure, these ladies were definitely influential and you can definitely tell after listening to the first couple records. I mean this is really how Joan Jett and Lita Ford got their start. Either way, these are some great rock records and definitely recommend giving them a listen.
