OK, so it’s Thursday so that means it’s time for another song pick of the week and since I’m going by my top 100 favorite bands number 99 is Superjoint Ritual. I do find it most appropriate that one of Phil Anselmo’s side projects is the pick of the week because in six days, I’ll be seeing Pantera live. Well with that, let’s take a look……..
Song: Oblivious Maximus/It Takes No Guts
Album: Use Once And Destroy
Now I know I know technically I picked two songs, but Oblivious Maximus is an instrumental track but it goes right into It Takes No Guts and man what a cool flow. Also the song It Takes No Guts is only like 2 minutes long but it’s so fast and badass. This is definitely the kind of song that gets you pumped or hyped up and I forgot how awesome it is. For me it also is a great song to listen to while going for a run. Like if you want to do sprints on a track or whatever this is a great song to listen to while you’re doing that especially as it gets closer to the end. The rest of the album is pretty good too, but this is probably my favorite song off of it and probably one of my favorite Superjoint Ritual songs ever. If it’s been a while since you’ve listened to this song or the rest of the album, go back and revisit it. It’s too bad that Phil doesn’t want to Superjoint stuff anymore because they seemed like a really fun band and they had some good albums.
