On this day August 28, 2026, we have a brand new album from The Warning. The album is called Everything’s Falling and just like the last album, they really did a good job of not giving too much away while at the same time giving enough to keep people interested. Let’s take a look….
If you listen from the first album through this one, you can hear them evolving and progressing while also maintaining their hard rock roots. Now of course if you’re expecting this album to sound or pick up where the previous album Keep Me Fed left off, you will be disappointed. This one is a bit softer than I would’ve expected given that the three singles “Kerosene,” “Ego,” and “Ritual” were not but they fit the album’s theme and all work wonderfully. What makes this one different from their other works is that they have entered heavy rock territory and you definitely hear it on the three singles. Yes there are some slower mid-tempo songs and if you think that they’re getting soft, then you’d be mistaken.
Now generally speaking, I myself am not a fan of when bands write those kind of songs but there are always exceptions and The Warning most certainly is. They just have this way of making songs like that sound great and while songs like “Ritual” or “Break” are examples of that, they 100% work for this album and the theme of the album. Speaking of the theme and what the album is about, drummer Paulina Villarreal says “basically, the whole album is about facing failure and having to build yourself up after that. It’s that emotional journey that I think all humans go through, and that internal struggle. Either you’re fighting with yourself, [or] you feel like you’re being pitted against other people. It’s a constant battle to become better”.
With every new release, Dany seems to gain more confidence and now she is definitely one of those powerhouse vocalists and on top of that, she’s a great guitar player. Drummer Paulina not only is one hell of a drummer (I swear she hits those drums like they owe her money) but also a fantastic and powerful vocalist in her own right and any song where she either takes the lead or sings with Dany is a welcome surprise. Then we get to bassist Ale (her bass playing is part of what made me a fan) and her playing and bass lines are very prominent on this album. For being the youngest, she is one hell of a bass player and this is one of those albums that will show you why. Now it should be noted that they did have other writers BUT a lot of this music was written by the three of them and you can tell that there’s a magic to it. They simply “have IT.”
This is absolutely one of those albums that gets better with each listen and the three aforementioned songs have already been played live and are absolutely amazing. Fun fact, the first single “Kerosene” reached number 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock AirPlay Chart. Now why does that matter and why would I even bring that up?? While I don’t really care about that stuff, it’s significant because this makes The Warning the first all-women band and the first Mexican band to top the chart in its 45-year history!! I think what I appreciate the most about this band is their ability to sort of branch out and try different styles. There’s a right and wrong way to go about that and they are most certainly in the former camp. Any of these other songs I’m absolutely positive will also sound just as great live because there are some songs that I can see being in the live set. I’ll give this album 9/10
