Skid Row

Up next is a band that some might say is a hair metal band but they really aren’t. Their frontman was part of the best damn side project ever which was when five guys come together to make a FIST!!!! of course the band on the chopping block is Skid Row. Now I’ve never heard much of their stuff so let’s take a look………

Skid Row- this album is less of a hair metal album and more of a straight forward rock band. Yes it has that 80’s sound going for it and honestly Sebastian Bach’s voice is pretty damn good. They actually kind of remind me of Guns N Roses a little bit on this record. I’ll give this record 9/10

Standouts: Sweet Little Sister, Big Guns, Makin A Mess

Slave To The Grind- so I had heard about this album and how it’s like this badass rock record and I must say that after hearing it, it’s a little overhyped but a great record nonetheless. I can see why this one is the fan favorite and it is one of those albums that does have that 90’s feel to it. I have no choice but to give this classic a 10/10

Standouts: Beggar’s Day, Slave To The Grind, Creepshow

Subhuman Race- I feel like when people bring up this band, they usually bring up the first two albums and especially Slave To The Grind but I actually like this one a lot. To me it’s a continuation of Slave and it’s almost right up there with that record. It is dare I say a little heavier than that record too. One thing to note is that this is the last album to have Sebastian Bach on vocals. Definitely an album not to sleep on. I’ll give it 9.5/10

Standouts: Bonehead, Firesign, Medicine Jar

Thickskin- ah yes the first album without Sebastian Bach and I must say it’s actually not that bad. Yes the diehards will say Skid Row is nothing without Sebastian but this album isn’t that bad. You can definitely tell that he would be a great fit for the songs but otherwise not bad. Sound wise it definitely has more of a modern sound but otherwise it very much sounds like a Skid Row record. I’ll give it 8/10

Standouts: New Generation, Born A Beggar, Mouth Of Voodoo

Revolutions Per Minute- again most people will say that this band needs Sebastian Bach and perhaps to some degree they are right but this album again isn’t that bad. It’s good, it’s got kind of a punk tinge to it and the heaviness of some of the songs is cool but otherwise, it’s nothing special. Yes I could picture Bach singing on this record but on its own it’s an ok record. I’ll give it 8/10

Standouts: Disease, Nothing, Let It Ride

The Gang’s All Here- this one does sort of feel like it sort of wants to go back to how they were when they started. It sort of has an 80’s feel to it but again it’s not a bad record. The thing with this album is that I started to get kind of bored with it. Like it’s good but not great.  Either way this is an album worth at least checking out I’ll give it 7.5/10

Standouts: Tear It Down, Not Dead Yet, World On Fire

The thing with this band is that the fans are very much in the get Sebastian back mindset and yes I agree they absolutely should. That said though the albums without Bach are also pretty good too. Like I enjoyed them more than I would’ve thought. Now when it comes to the other albums, do I think Sebastian could sing these songs should they reunite? Yes I do. Do I think that if they ever reunite with him that he would sing these songs? No I do not.
